I love all of the RADA Mixes! But, this time of year – they can be a lifesaver!
Many people want to have people over during the holidays – but, don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen all day preparing. That’s where RADA Mixes can come in!
The veggie dips are great for chips and crackers. The Cucumber Onion Dill Dip is one of my favorites! It tastes great and is so easy to do. All you do is mix it with sour cream and cream cheese. That’s it!
The RADA Cheeseballs are also super easy to do. The Sweet Hot Pepper Jelly Cheeseball is my absolute fav! I have been known to eat a whole one by myself. To make these – it’s just mixing the mix with cream cheese. Roll it into a ball – put in the fridge for a couple of hours. Bring it out and roll in the topping. So simple!
RADA even has a cheeseball recipe that you can make with the Cucumber Onion Dill Dip. Here’s a video of how to do it:
If you do any entertaining at all – or need a dish to take to a party – make sure that you check out the RADA Dips and Cheeseballs! Good snacks doesn’t have to be time consuming!

Now, this time of year is also busy for everyone. You are probably scurrying around getting prepared for Thanksgiving and Christmas. A nice bowl of soup sounds great – but, you don’t want to just open a can. And, you don’t have time to make it from scratch.
Here’s a video of how easy it is to make RADA Baked Potato Soup:
Just a tip – when I make this soup – I leave it on the burner to simmer for a little while longer. The longer you let it simmer, the thicker it will get!
RADA Soups are so good – and so easy! Perfect for this busy season!
You can find this soup and others at http://jjm-marketing.com
In addition to their fantastic knives – RADA Manufacturing also makes some incredible Quick Mixes. I’m always running into someone who had not idea about them. And, they are so good! And, easy to make!
Since, so many people don’t know about them – I thought we’d take the next couple of weeks to talk about their yummy mixes. I’ll also share some recipes that you can use these dips with. But, most of them are great on their own!
- Fruit Dips
The veggie dips are great for an easy snack for the family. They are also super to have for when you may be entertaining. Your family and guests will be so impressed with you and think you worked for hours! But, actually – they are so quick.
Here’s a video that shows how the Veggie Dips are to make:
The Cucumber Dill Dip that she showed in the video is perfect or a veggie snack tray. Simply make the dip – cut up some celery, carrots, broccoli, etc. – and you’re all set. Or, if you are short on time (this is why I do), just buy the veggies already cut up. How simple and easy is that!
If you are looking to make a really good salad dressing – here’s a recipe of one that you can make with the Cucumber Dill Dip.
Creamy Cucumber Onion Dill Dressing
3/4 cup salad dressing or mayonnaise
1/2 cup 2% milk
3/4 cup sour cream
1 package Cucumber Onion Dill Quick Mix
Combine Cucumber Onion Dill Quick Mix and milk. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Allow to set in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, and then serve over your favorite salad. YUM!
Another great dip for cut up veggies is the Spinach Artichoke Dip! It’s a nice rich and creamy blend of spinach, artichoke and Parmesan cheese. It’s just as easy to make as the Cucumber Dill Dip – except that you heat it up to serve. It’s a hit with party guests!
Here’s a great main dish recipe to use with the Spinach Artichoke Dip.
Spinach Artichoke and Crab Bake
12 oz. pasta (Bowties, Penne, etc.), cooked and drained
1 pkg. Spinach Artichoke Quick Mix
I was asked this the other day and really had to think about it for a few minutes. There are so many great knives that RADA Cutlery makes – and I use several of them all the time. After a while – I came to realize that I didn’t just have one favorite. There are basically 3 knives that I use more than others that I guess would be considered to be my favorites. Here they are – and my reasons why.
First of all, I love the Super Parer. This is the knife that I use most of the time. I like a knife with a longer blade so I use this knife for most everything that I do in preparing meals. It also has a longer handle – and it just feels very comfortable in my hand. The Super Parer is the knife that I go to when I need to chop onions, celery, cut up potatoes – anything that you would use a paring knife for. It’s definitely my “go to” knife for a lot of jobs.
My next favorite knife has to be the Tomato Slicer. I love eat tomato sandwiches and BLT’s in the summer. This knife helps to slice tomatoes cleanly. No more tomato “guts” all over the counter! The blade of the Tomato Slicer is especially made with dual serrations to make sure you get a straight cut. You can also use it to slice other veggies, also. The serrated blade is super sharp and works great!
The other knife that I really love is the Serrated Slicer. This is basically a Tomato Slicer on steroids! It has the same great serrated blade of the Tomato Slicer – just on a larger scale. This is great for cutting through larger fruits and vegetables. The Serrated Slicer will go right through a watermelon or cantaloupe without any problem at all! It’s another great knife to have around the house.
Well, those are my big 3! How about you? Do you have a favorite RADA Cutlery knife that you use a lot? Please leave me a message in the comments. I’d love to know your favorites!
In our last post, we talked about the best way to clean RADA Cutlery. In case you missed it – here’s the link. http://radacutleryforyou.com/take-care-rada-cutlery-hand-wash-vs-dishwasher/
RADA Cutlery, as other knife companies, recommend that you hand wash your fine cutlery. However, I know that there are some (and, as I’ve said before – my Mother is one of them) that still put your brushed aluminum handled-cutlery in the dishwasher. My Mom said that she doesn’t care if the handles turn color as long as the knives are still sharp. Which they are!
However, for those of you that have put yours in the dishwasher, RADA has come out with a cleaner that will restore your handles to a light grey, smooth finish. This will make them pretty again!
The polish is called, Bar Keepers Friend. All you do is sprinkle the product on a wet cloth and run gently. Rub until the discoloration disappears and then rinse immediately.
So, if you just won’t hand wash your RADA Cutlery, never fear. Just keep a few packets of Bar Keepers Friend around!
You can find it by clicking here.
RADA Cutlery is such a fine line of knives. They keep their edge and will last you for years – if taken care of properly. But, do you know how to take care of RADA Cutlery? The age old question is should I put my knives in the dishwasher or should I hand wash them. Read on to see if this information helps.
RADA highly recommends that you hand wash fine cutlery. There are several reasons for this. First of all, hand washing prevents microscopic dings on the blades’ cutting edges.
Second, recent government mandated changes to phospate-free dishwashing detergents creates a harsh environment for metals. This includes the stainless stell blades and the brushed aluminum handles of RADA Cutlery.
Also, dishwashers have evolved to higher temperatures for cleansing and drying that is incompatible with fine cutlery.
Even knowing this, there are some RADA users (my mother included) that still put their RADA knives in the dishwasher. Some find that nothing happens – while others notice that their brushed aluminum handles will turn dark. The varying results are dependent on the detergent that they use, water mineral composition and the actual dishwasher itself. The combination of these will affect the pace and the degree of oxidation experienced.
Even though, as stated before, RADA Manufacturing recommends hand washing their cutlery – they also realize that there are many customers that still insist on putting their knives in the dishwasher. For these customers, RADA has come out with their quality knives with black stainless steel resin handles. They developed these for improved performance in automatic dishwashers.
Whether you used the original brushed aluminum handles or the new black stainless steel resin handles – hand washing is still recommended for the three major reasons mentioned above. However, the choice is up to you as to how to care for them.
RADA Cutlery has done it again! They’ve come up with a line of Non-Scratch Cooking Utensils. I love this as I cook most of the time with pots and pans that have non-stick surfaces. I was always afraid to use the normal line of RADA Utensils as I was afraid of scratching the non-stick materials in the pans.
So, I was excited when RADA came out with these. Here’s a video that introduces you to them:
If you love cooking with non-stick pans then you will love the new Non-Scratch Cooking Utensils. These are four new utensils that RADA is proud to offer along with the other Rada Cutlery made in the USA kitchen products. The new products include: the Non-Scratch Spoon, the Non-Scratch Spoon with Holes, the Non-Scratch Spatula and the Non-Scratch Soup Ladle. Each of these products has a metal stem and easy to grip handle.
I’m sure that if you try one – you’ll me like me and have to have all 4 of them!
Here is a great all around knife to have around the kitchen! The RADA Stubby Butcher Knife is knife that can be used not only for slicing meat – but for other prep work that you need to do.
This knife has a blade length of 5 3/8 inches. The overall length of the knife is 9 7/8 inches. To me, it’s a great size and fits in your hand nicely. And, as with RADA Cutlery knives – they are sharpened on both sides so that they can be used easily by either right handers or left handers.
Here is a video that gives you a tasty recipe for Corn Salsa and shows some of the uses of the Stubby Butcher besides just slicing meat.
It really is an easy recipe to do – and tastes yummy!

Also, here are other items that she used in the above video:
I hope that you try this recipe! I know that you’ll love it!
Here it is! The little gadget that your kitchen definitely needs – The RADA Knife Sharpener!
This sharpener may be little, but it does a tremendous job! You can use it on all different sizes of knives – even scissors. Before my Dad passed away – he used this little knife sharpener to sharpen everything from his pocket knife on up. It just works great!
And, it’s easy to use. Here’s a short video to show how easy:
If you are needing a good sharpener – I highly recommend that you check out the RADA Cutlery Knife Sharpener. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!
You can find it with my other RADA Cutlery items in my eBay store at http://jjm-marketing.com
I love eating grapefruits! And, this time of year – they are pretty easy to find! I love taking a trip to Florida in January or February and bringing grapefruit home. My hubby and I always make a stop at one of the orchards and stock up on them – and oranges!
Getting the actual meat out of the grapefruit used to be a problem for me. I’d use a regular knife and usually tore most of it up before I got it out of the peeling. Then, I tried one of RADA Cutlery’s Grapefruit Knives. This knife is absolutely fantastic! It is curved to fit the grapefruit as you’re cutting it – and it is serrated on both sides. I have a friend who is left-handed – so she is also able to use this knife.
Here’s a quick video on how easy it is to cut a grapefruit:
